“The insecurity we face does not distinguish based on religious, ethnic, or political beliefs.”
Former presidential candidate and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed concern over recent remarks by US President Donald Trump describing Nigeria as a “country of particular concern.”
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Kwankwaso said, “I have noted with increasing concern the heightened pronouncements on Nigeria by President Donald Trump. This follows his designation of Nigeria as a ‘country of particular concern.’”
He stressed that insecurity in Nigeria stems from outlaws, not religion or ethnicity. “The insecurity we face does not distinguish based on religious, ethnic, or political beliefs,” he said.
Kwankwaso urged the United States to assist Nigeria with advanced technology rather than threats. “The United States should assist the Nigerian authorities with better cutting-edge technology to tackle these problems,” he said, adding that Nigeria should engage Washington diplomatically.
He appealed to Nigerians for unity, saying, “We should emphasise unity of belonging over division. God bless Nigeria.”
