Suspected kidnappers have killed Abuja-based veterinary doctor, Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, and abducted his three children, leaving the capital in shock.
An Abuja-based veterinary doctor and former chairman of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), FCT Chapter, Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, has been killed by suspected kidnappers who also abducted his three children. The tragic incident occurred on Friday night when gunmen invaded his residence in Kubwa, along the Kubwa-Kaduna road. Dr. Ogbu’s body was later found dumped by the roadside.
His colleague, Andrew Gabriel Ikechukwu, confirmed the incident on Facebook, writing, “Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, the immediate past chairman of the NVMA FCT chapter, who was kidnapped alongside his three children from his home in Kubwa Abuja, was found dead. The three children are yet to be released. May God please intervene.”
The late Ogbu, described as a dedicated professional, leaves behind a nursing wife. The FCT Police Command has yet to issue an official statement. The killing follows the recent death of Arise TV journalist Somtochukwu Maduagwu in Abuja.
