Staff and students accuse Kwara Nursing College Provost Abdulquadri Olanrewaju of corruption, bribery, and result manipulation, allegations he has not addressed.
The Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences and Midwifery, Oke-Ode, Ifelodun LGA, is facing allegations of corruption, manipulation, and extortion, with students and staff accusing Provost Abdulquadri Olanrewaju of turning the institution into a personal business venture.
According to SaharaReporters, insiders allege examinations and admissions are manipulated for money and influence. “Some of the staff members, including the school provost, are manipulating results for students,” a staff source claimed, adding that some students threaten colleagues with failure due to their links to the provost.
Olanrewaju is also accused of tampering with admissions, allegedly demanding bribes of N50,000 to N100,000 for results and passage. One case involved a petty trader who borrowed from a microfinance bank to pay fees, only for her daughter’s result to be altered from “pass” to “fail.”
Critics further argue Olanrewaju was unqualified for his 2022 appointment, lacking a completed nursing degree. Efforts to reach him for comment were unsuccessful.
