A naval officer, his wife, and daughter were abducted by armed bandits in Kachia, Kaduna State, prompting an ongoing rescue operation.
Armed bandits have reportedly abducted a naval officer, his wife, and daughter during an overnight attack in Kaduna State. The victims were identified as Seaman Olatunji Enoch, 40, his 25-year-old wife, Margaret Olatunji, and their 13-year-old daughter, Hellen Bitrus.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama said the abduction occurred in the early hours of August 20, 2025, when gunmen stormed Unguwan Mission, Kachia Local Government Area, and whisked the family away. “The gunmen stormed Unguwan Mission, Kachia, and whisked away Seaman Olatunji Enoch, 40, of the Nigerian Navy attached to NNSAT Kachia. The assailants also took away his wife, Margaret Olatunji, 25, and their daughter, Hellen Bitrus, 13, during the attack,” the report stated.
Authorities confirmed that “security agencies have since launched a manhunt for the perpetrators, with cordon-and-search operations ongoing in surrounding bushes.” The statement added that “the operation aims to ensure the safe rescue of the victims without harm.”
The incident underscores the escalating insecurity plaguing Kaduna communities.
