Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has suffered a knee injury, leaving his return date uncertain and prompting the club to consider transfer options
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz is facing another spell on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury during training. The 26-year-old Germany international was absent from an open session at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, with the club confirming assessments are ongoing and the length of his recovery remains unclear.
The setback leaves new signing Viktor Gyokeres as the only recognised striker fit in Mikel Arteta’s squad. Leandro Trossard, who recently extended his contract, could also be called upon, while Gabriel Jesus is still recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered in January.
This is Havertz’s second injury of 2025 after a hamstring tear earlier in the year sidelined him for 18 matches across competitions. Arsenal are now actively monitoring the transfer market to reinforce their attack should the German face a prolonged absence.
Since joining from Chelsea in 2023, Havertz has made 88 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 29 goals. The Gunners host Leeds United on Saturday.
