Documents link Wike’s wife, children to $2m Florida property purchase

The revelations raise questions over asset disclosure, the source of funds, and possible money laundering, as Wike’s official salary is far below the purchase value.

Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has been linked to the secret acquisition of a $2 million mansion in Florida, United States, registered under his wife and children’s names. According to documents obtained by West Africa Weekly, the property was purchased in March 2025 in Winter Springs and listed under the names of his wife, Justice Eberechi Wike, and their children, Joaquin, Jazmyne, and Jordan.

The revelations raise questions over asset disclosure, the source of funds, and possible money laundering, as Wike’s official salary is far below the purchase value. Justice Wike’s involvement also attracts scrutiny, with records showing she is a registered U.S. Democratic Party member—an apparent violation of Nigeria’s Judicial Code of Conduct prohibiting judges from political affiliations.

The acquisition follows Wike’s alleged link to a $3.6 billion FCT land scandal involving his son. Critics say the case highlights deepening concerns over corruption and illicit enrichment among Nigerian public officials.
