Nestle Nigeria, through its Maggi brand, has launched the 2025 Partnership Empowerment Development Programme for women in the South-East.
The initiative is being implemented across Imo, Abia, Anambra, Enugu, and Ebonyi states during the annual Women’s August Meeting.
Speaking at the weekend in Owerri during the meeting hosted by the Owerri Anglican Women Christ, Home and Abroad, the Category Manager/Head of Maggi, Funmi Osineye, said the programme was designed to promote women and community development. Nollywood actress Blessing Obasi-Nze was also present to inspire participants as a role model.
Competitions formed part of the programme, with Mrs. Merit Njeribeako emerging winner of the cooking contest, followed by Mrs. Charity Anikam in second place and Josephine Nwagbaraocha in third. Other participants were rewarded for their contributions during health discussions and empowerment sessions.
Osineye explained: “It is not all about gathering; we are empowering them. We partner for community development and empowerment programmes for the good of families and Nigeria.”
Dr. Chioma Onwuegbu, President of the Owerri Anglican Women Christ, emphasized the role of women in ensuring peace and family stability.
