Hired in July 2023 as an advanced nurse tech, her alleged fraud went undetected until January 2025, when a promotion prompted scrutiny.

A Florida woman, Autumn Bardisa, 29, has been arrested for allegedly posing as a registered nurse and treating 4,486 patients at AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway Hospital without a valid license.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said Bardisa used another nurse’s license information after falsely claiming to have passed the national exam. Hired in July 2023 as an advanced nurse tech, her alleged fraud went undetected until January 2025, when a promotion prompted scrutiny.

Authorities say Bardisa never provided proof of a claimed name change and used credentials belonging to a different nurse with the same first name. She was fired on January 22 and arrested August 5 at her home.

“This woman potentially put thousands of lives at risk,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. Bardisa faces 14 felony charges and is being held on $70,000 bond. Her arraignment is set for September 2.
