President Donald Trump has expressed support for actress Sydney Sweeney following reports she is a registered Republican in Florida.

Asked about her while boarding Marine One, Trump responded, “She’s a registered Republican? Oh. Now I love her ad!” He added, “If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.”
On Truth Social, Trump further endorsed her American Eagle commercial, writing, “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there… Go get ‘em Sydney!”
The ad sparked debate for its narration linking genetics to denim: “Genes are passed down… My jeans are blue.” Critics accused it of promoting eugenics. Rapper Doja Cat mocked the commercial, and Vice President JD Vance criticized Democrats, saying, “My political advice… is continue to [call] everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive a Nazi.”
American Eagle defended the campaign, stating: “‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans… Great jeans look good on everyone.”
