Bayern Munich reach €75m agreement for Liverpool’s Luis Díaz

Bayern Munich have reached a €75m agreement to sign Luis Díaz from Liverpool, with the Colombian forward expected to complete the move within 24 hours.

Bayern Munich have agreed a €75million (£65.6m; $88.1m) deal to sign Liverpool winger Luis Díaz. The Colombian, currently in Tokyo on Liverpool’s pre-season tour, has been granted permission to travel and finalize his transfer within 24 hours.

Liverpool had earlier rejected Bayern’s €67.5m offer but reopened negotiations, insisting on full market value. Díaz, under contract until 2027, has expressed his desire to leave this summer.

“In Lucho’s situation it was (linked to his future), yeah,” said head coach Arne Slot, who omitted him from a friendly against AC Milan due to ongoing talks.

Bayern, after missing out on Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams, turned to Díaz for his attacking versatility. He joined Liverpool from Porto in 2022 for around £43m and made 148 appearances, scoring 41 goals and providing 23 assists.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have signed Hugo Ekitike and are eyeing Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, while also considering offers for Darwin Núñez. Harvey Elliott is reviewing his future amid increasing competition.
