July 21, 2025 — Former President Donald Trump escalated his feud with Barack Obama on Sunday, sharing an AI-generated video on Truth Social depicting Obama being arrested by federal agents. The 45-second clip, originally posted on TikTok, spliced footage of Democrats declaring “No one is above the law” before cutting to an animated Oval Office scene where Trump smiles as an AI Obama is handcuffed and jailed to the tune of “YMCA.”
The post coincided with explosive claims by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who alleged on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures that Obama and his intelligence chiefs “directed a treasonous conspiracy” to frame Trump for colluding with Russia. “Over 100 documents we released on Friday detail how this was enacted just weeks before Obama left office,” Gabbard said, vowing to refer the evidence to the FBI and DOJ.
Gabbard asserted that pre-2016 election intelligence assessments found “no evidence” of Russian interference favoring Trump, accusing Obama’s team of manufacturing the narrative to subvert democracy. “This was a years-long coup against a duly elected president,” she told host Maria Bartiromo.
Trump’s AI video—a clear jab at the allegations—drew swift reactions, with critics condemning it as disinformation and supporters treating it as satire. The clip’s release underscores how AI deepfakes are increasingly weaponized in political warfare, even as officials like Gabbard warn of real-world “subversion” by former leaders.
Neither Obama nor his representatives have publicly addressed Gabbard’s claims or Trump’s viral post.
