Trump celebrates with Chelsea

Former President Donald Trump faced mixed reactions at the FIFA Club World Cup final, drawing boos from the crowd before joining Chelsea’s trophy celebrations on stage. Despite being urged to move by players Reece James and Robert Sánchez, Trump insisted on staying, declaring, “No, I am celebrating with you,” as he participated in the champions’ festivities at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

US president Donald Trump astoundingly crashed Chelsea’s trophy celebrations following their stunning Club World Cup final victory over PSG.

Trump, who watched the game at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium alongside Fifa president Gianni Infantino, made his way down to the pitch to present Blues captain Reece James with the trophy.

But instead of following Infantino out of shot, Trump locked his feet in position and stayed front and centre as James held the trophy aloft, with his Chelsea teammates left with no option but to celebrate around the president.

As Chelsea captain Reece James was preparing to lift the trophy to celebrate the 3-0 win over favorites PSG, Palmer could be seen in the background confusingly asking why Trump was still on stage. Palmer, who scored the first two goals for Chelsea, appeared to urge James to wait for Trump to leave the frame.
