President Donald Trump reportedly told donors at a 2024 fundraiser that he warned Vladimir Putin he would “bomb the **** out of Moscow” if Russia invaded Ukraine. In an audio recording obtained by journalists and shared with CNN, Trump is heard recalling his statement: “If you go into Ukraine, I’m going to bomb the **** out of Moscow. I’m telling you I have no choice.” He claimed Putin responded, “‘I don’t believe you, no way’… and I said ‘way.'”

Trump said he made a similar warning to Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding Taiwan: “If you go into Taiwan I’m going to bomb the **** out of Beijing.” He added, “He believed me 10 per cent… and we never had a problem.”

The recordings were made during fundraising events in New York and Florida and feature in the new book 2024. Trump asserted Russia wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine had he been in office at the time.
