“Don’t go to school and begin to study Political Science, History, Microbiology and Sociology. These are useless courses. What are you doing with them?”
Popular Anambra-based cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, also known as Odumeje, has advised Nigerian students to avoid studying certain courses in university, calling them “useless.”
In a viral video shared on X, Odumeje said, “All these poor people, if your father does not have any connection in politics or government, don’t go to school and begin to study Political Science, History, Microbiology and Sociology. These are useless courses. What are you doing with them?”
He also discouraged students from studying Library Information Science, suggesting vocational skills instead. “It is better for you to go and learn barbing than study that course. We don’t waste our time and money on nonsense now.”
Odumeje, known for his dramatic sermons, added: “For education to be a blessing, let the course you study in school be meaningful. Please avoid these courses, and don’t waste four to five years in universities.”
The cleric also hinted at contesting the 2027 presidential election, claiming, “We need a young leader… not old cargoes.”
