An accident involving a truck and a Hummer bus on Ede Road, Osun State, on Monday evening claimed the lives of two children and a young man, leaving several others injured.
The crash occurred at about 6:26 p.m. when both vehicles collided and burst into flames. A witness, Ayoola Babalola, told Peoples Gazette that “the Hummer bus made a terrible overtake on the narrow road and collided with the incoming truck which had also swerved towards the center of the road to dodge a misbehaving taxi-bus.”
Mr Babalola said the children died on the spot while their father, who sustained a shattered leg, survived. He added that no fire extinguishers or fire service personnel were present to assist.
