A UK-based Nigerian woman, Christy Oluwabunmi Oyewole, has petitioned the Ogun State House of Assembly, accusing Oba Adekeye Adeyemi Olanrewaju, the Abepa of Joga Orile, of defrauding her of over N115 million under the guise of marriage. In her petition, Oyewole detailed how the monarch allegedly provided fake divorce and marriage documents, swindling her of N65 million in cash, jewelry worth N50 million, and other valuables. “Oba Adekeye has fraudulently taken all my life savings,” she wrote, alleging he exploited her vulnerability after her previous marriage collapsed due to domestic violence 12.

Oyewole claimed the monarch manipulated her into transferring N53 million electronically, giving N12 million in cash, and surrendering gold and phones worth millions. She also accused him of attempting to coerce her into a ritual in Ekiti State, demanding “an eye or leg sacrifice for prosperity.” The victim revealed Oba Adekeye had used similar tactics on at least five other women, forging legal documents and threatening victims who sought justice. “He boasts nothing will happen because he is a king,” she alleged in petitions to the EFCC, police, and DSS
