“I never had the chance to sit down with Tinubu, I think part of the problem is that he never really had time for people like us, I’m not sure he had time for a lot of the people working for him.”
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former political adviser to Vice President Kashim Shettima, has disclosed President Bola Tinubu’s alarming isolation, stating he never had a sit-down meeting with him during his tenure. “I met the president three times in the Villa mosque… He never had time for people like us,” Baba-Ahmed revealed on Arise TV, questioning whether Tinubu receives poor advice or none at all from his inner circle.
The ex-aide lamented the disconnect between presidential aides’ optimistic narratives and citizens’ harsh realities: “We know how desperate the country is… people are losing hope.” He urged Tinubu to engage more with appointes, arguing better access to quality advice would improve governance amid Nigeria’s crises.
