LASTMA has not confirmed if there were any casualties or injuries.
A truck fell off the Pen Cinema flyover bridge in Agege, Lagos State, on Saturday morning, crushing two passenger mini-buses, popularly known as ‘korope’, inward Old Abeokuta Road.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident at 8:37 a.m., stating, “A truck fell off the Pen Cinema Fly-over bridge inward Old Abeokuta Road and fell on two commercial mini-bus (Korope).
Recovery of the affected vehicles has been swiftly initiated. LASTMA personnel and other emergency responders are very much on ground to maintain decorum.”
LASTMA has not confirmed if there were any casualties or injuries.
Earlier in April, SaharaReporters reported a similar accident when a 40-foot containerised truck suffered brake failure along the Cele Expressway, resulting in one death and five injuries.
Emergency responders have once again been deployed in Agege to manage the aftermath and ensure the resumption of normal traffic flow.
Authorities are yet to release further updates on the Agege accident.
