Sokoto Catholic Bishop Matthew Kukah has issued a dire Easter appeal to President Tinubu, urging immediate action to rescue Nigerians from escalating insecurity, hunger, and despair. During a Saturday vigil, Kukah likened the nation’s suffering to Christ’s crucifixion, warning that Nigeria nears “a breaking point” with violence and poverty pushing citizens to the brink.

The cleric demanded constitutional guarantees for food security, linking hunger to fuel subsidy removal’s fallout. He referenced past political mercenary admissions, questioning if citizens were “lambs sacrificed to an unknown god.” While acknowledging Tinubu inherited crises, Kukah stressed leadership requires solutions, not excuses.
