Trump administration faces outrage after US war plans leak

DAILY POST

The circulating conversation about the United States military strikes against the Houthis in Yemen has caused a stir within the Trump administration.

Jeffrey Goldberg, The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, made the leak public in an article on Monday days after he was erroneously added to a Signal chat.

“U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen,” he wrote. “I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.”

The group reportedly included Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe.

Hegseth was questioned as he landed in Hawaii on the start of his trip to Asia. “Nobody was texting war plans,” the official replied after making scathing remarks about Goldberg.

National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes, however, indicated that the message “appears to be authentic,” and confirmed that the matter is being reviewed.
