Russian commentators have claimed they would be in the market to help Donald Trump secure Greenland and Canada in exchange for help with Ukraine.
Appearing on Russian state TV, Vladimir Solovyov and his fellow talkshow hosts were deep in conversation when he said “we’ll help Trump take Greenland. And Canada,” before another interjected “and Ireland.”
The Ireland comment was met with surprise from another host who said that Trump “didn’t ask for it” before it was quickly determined that it would be for a holiday like “St Patrick’s day”.
They then talked about the division of Europe, and efforts to rip the continent apart.
Solovyov then said, “We’ll have to take back our bases in Eastern Europe, we’ll have to go back to Berlin, we’ll have to teach the Baltics to love the Russian language again.
“We have so much work ahead of us,” he added before one of his co-hosts said “all of this work you’re talking about is only possible if [US Vice-President JD] Vance or someone like him wins the election in 2028.
“Because if Trump gets so many sticks in his wheel that he loses the internal conflict after all.”
