Airport policies didn’t drive Uber out of Nigeria, says FAAN

Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Managing Director Olubunmi Kuku refutes claims that airport policies caused Uber’s exit from Nigeria. Kuku stated Uber’s departure was a business decision, emphasizing FAAN’s focus on passenger safety and experience.

FAAN had temporarily halted e-hailing pick-ups due to passenger complaints about negative experiences with some services. Kuku clarified this was to ensure passenger safety and provide regulatory oversight, not to favor FAAN’s new e-hailing platform.
