A special investigator has told an Abuja court that late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari and former SGF Boss Mustapha should be charged alongside Godwin Emefiele over the alleged theft of $6.2 million from the CBN.
BUHARI, MUSTAPHA MUST BE CHARGED — EFCC WITNESS
Jim Obaze, testifying for the EFCC before Justice Hamza Muazu at the FCT High Court, Maitama, said Buhari should be posthumously prosecuted while Mustapha must stand trial with Emefiele, according to Tribune Online.
Obaze said the money, meant for election observers in 2023, involved more than 10 people, yet only Emefiele faced charges. He also wants Jibril Abubakar and Bashirudeen Maishanu prosecuted. Emefiele’s counsel, Matthew Burkaa SAN, said the defence would file a no-case submission after the prosecution closed its case.
The matter was adjourned to October 20.
