Former Benue SSG David Salifu Shot Dead by Bandits on Wukari-Makurdi Road
Salifu, who served as SSG under former Governor Gabriel Suswam and was a lecturer at the Federal University Wukari, was travelling from Wukari to Makurdi on Thursday when armed men stopped his vehicle, ordered him to alight and mount a motorcycle, then shot him after he resisted, Punch reports.
He was initially treated at a Wukari teaching hospital before being transferred to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, where he died in the early hours of Friday. African Democratic Congress senatorial candidate David Olofu, who described Salifu as a confidant and campaign council member, confirmed the death. Taraba State Police had not responded to enquiries as of filing.
