DIEZANI UK JUDGMENT
A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted former Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke permission to present evidence of her acquittal by Southwark Crown Court in London, Daily Post reports.
Justice Inyang Ekwo approved the application on Wednesday after Diezani’s lawyer, Godwin Iyinbor, moved the motion without opposition from EFCC counsel Mofesomo Oyetibo.
The UK court had discharged and acquitted Alison-Madueke on June 17 over bribery allegations.
Diezani is seeking to reclaim forfeited assets in a suit against the EFCC. The court adjourned the matter to October 6, when the preliminary objection and substantive suit will be heard together.
