FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has declared Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition dead on arrival, dismissing the PDP-APM alliance as a personal political calculation that will fail.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has dismissed Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition as dead on arrival, according to Daily Post Nigeria.
Wike was reacting to Makinde’s declaration of a 2027 presidential bid following a Memorandum of Understanding signed between his PDP faction and the Allied Peoples Movement in Ibadan on Thursday.
Speaking to journalists during an inspection of road projects in Abuja, Wike said: “What you have is Seyi Makinde joining APM to be able to actualize his presidential ambition, which is already dead on arrival.”
He added firmly: “We know that has been his game plan and we would say he cannot fly the flag of PDP.”
Wike also maintained that Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed had never endorsed any PDP-APM alliance, describing the claim as mere political imagination.
