Edo State Government has refuted claims of banning Afrobeats star Davido from the state. Information Commissioner Kassim Afegbua clarified that the government dissociates itself from such statements, emphasizing that Edo State is welcoming to all, regardless of affiliations.
This clarification follows remarks by Governor Okpebholo’s aide, Kassy Chukwu, who suggested Davido should not perform in the state and even advocated for him to be beaten if seen. The dispute stems from Davido’s reaction to Okpebholo’s criticism of Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke.
