UAE’s Etihad deepens West African footprint with Air Peace partnership

Etihad Airways has signed interline agreements with Nigeria’s Air Peace and Ghana’s Africa World Airlines as it moves to expand its West African footprint against rivals Emirates and Qatar Airways.

Etihad Stakes Claim in West African Skies with Air Peace Deal

Etihad is making its move in West Africa. Per The Africa Report, the Abu Dhabi carrier — long a marginal player in the region compared to Emirates and Qatar Airways — signed an interline agreement with Nigeria’s Air Peace on July 22, followed by Ghana’s Africa World Airlines (AWA) on July 24.

The strategy lets Etihad expand its African network rapidly without launching new routes of its own, instead partnering with established local carriers. For Air Peace, the tie-up helps maximise passenger flows across West Africa, strengthening its regional connectivity through Etihad’s global network.
