Atiku Abubakar has challenged the Tinubu administration to publish full procurement details for 39 SUVs budgeted at N15.13 billion, questioning why each vehicle costs an average of N387 million.

Atiku wants receipts, not silence. Per Leadership Newspapers, the ADC presidential candidate, through his aide Phrank Shaibu, cited Tracka’s analysis showing N15.13 billion was budgeted for 39 SUVs in the 2026 Federal Budget — translating to N387 million per vehicle.
He demanded the government publish each vehicle’s make, model, supplier, contract details and chassis number if already procured, or explain the delay if procurement remains ongoing. Atiku questioned whether the vehicles were ultra-luxury models like Rolls-Royce Cullinans or Bentley Bentaygas, asking: “If none of these… was purchased, then what exactly justifies such an extraordinary price tag?”
He also pressed Tinubu on his role in approving the budget, asking if the president was “asleep at the wheel.” Atiku further referenced Tracka’s findings on N947.70 billion allocated to 2,579 empowerment projects, demanding clarity on beneficiaries and monitoring mechanisms.
He accused the government of preaching sacrifice to citizens while avoiding accountability for its own spending, insisting: “Public money belongs to the Nigerian people. Every kobo must be accounted for.”
