The ten biggest tech layoffs of 2026 have eliminated over 76,000 jobs as companies restructure around artificial intelligence and leaner operations.
Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, Amazon, Meta, Cisco, Workday, Autodesk, CrowdStrike and Block lead the cuts, driven by restructuring, cost-cutting, and AI-focused investment shifts, Nairametrics reported.
Oracle posted one of the steepest reductions, while Microsoft and Meta trimmed thousands of roles even as they expand AI capabilities. Several firms said the layoffs aim to streamline operations, boost efficiency, and redirect resources toward high-growth areas particularly AI infrastructure and cloud services.
