Former SGF Babachir Lawal claims President Bola Tinubu is heavily dependent on silk cigarettes and describes him as “an unhealthy man.”
Tinubu ‘Can’t Do Without’ Silk Cigarettes – Babachir Lawal
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu is addicted to silk cigarettes, saying he “can’t do without” them, in an interview on Symfoni TV monitored by Peoples Gazette on Saturday.
Lawal described Tinubu as “an unhealthy man” who frequently travels to France for treatment, urging him to prioritise his health after his term. He claimed Tinubu’s simple diet includes banana, groundnut, pap and moimoi, and dismissed allegations that the president amassed excessive wealth, insisting Tinubu neither dresses extravagantly nor enjoys luxury.
Lawal recalled Tinubu often appearing “unkempt” in pyjamas for photos before becoming president, adding that he once told aides to stop him from being pictured until “properly dressed.”
