Terrorists issue chilling threat against 176 captives: ‘We’ll marry the beautiful ones, kill the rest’

Relatives of 176 people abducted in Kaiama, Kwara State nearly six months ago say their N155 million ransom was rejected, as terrorists allegedly threaten to marry off “beautiful” captives and kill the rest.

Nearly six months on, families are still waiting. Per Vanguard, relatives of 176 people abducted in Kaiama LGA, Kwara State, say the terrorists holding them have threatened to force attractive female captives into marriage and kill the remaining hostages.

Abdul Ibrahim, a Kaiama native, told BBC Hausa Service that communities raised over N155 million as ransom, but abductors rejected it. Peaceful protests have also failed to draw government intervention.

Local leader Suleiman Bukata urged the Federal Government to replicate the recent rescue of Oyo State abductees in Kaiama. Senator Adamu Aliero, meanwhile, blamed the crisis on the scale of insecurity rather than funding, and renewed calls for state police.
