Ogun State Police have arrested three suspects, including a former security guard who confessed the killing of ex-OGTV broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku was meant to “teach her a lesson” over old grievances.
Three suspects are in custody over the brutal killing of retired OGTV broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo — and the motive is as chilling as the crime itself.
Ogun Police Commissioner Bode Ojajuni told reporters in Abeokuta that the case cracked open after detectives recovered Oyesiku’s stolen Lexus RX330. A note left inside became the breakthrough lead, forensically traced to prime suspect Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, 22 — once Oyesiku’s own security guard.
Philip allegedly confessed the attack stemmed from grievances during his time working for her, and was meant to “teach her a lesson.” He named two accomplices, now also arrested. Police say the trio overpowered Adetayo, forced entry, killed both victims, then fled in the SUV.
Exhibits recovered include a broken hammer, cutlass, plank and black pen. Ojajuni stressed all suspects remain entitled to due process, Punch reports.
