Sterling Financial Holdings posts 89% profit jump, assets cross ₦4 Trillion

Sterling Financial Holdings has reported an 89% jump in pre-tax profit for FY2025 and crossed the ₦4 trillion total assets milestone in Q1 2026, marking what it describes as the strongest financial performance in its modern history.

Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc has posted record earnings for the full year 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, with total assets crossing ₦4 trillion for the first time.

Gross earnings for FY2025 rose 44.4% to ₦486.8 billion, while Profit Before Tax surged 89.2% to ₦86.8 billion and Profit After Tax climbed 74.8% to ₦76.3 billion. Total assets reached ₦3.91 trillion by year-end before hitting ₦4.07 trillion in Q1 2026.

Group Managing Director Yemi Odubiyi said: “Our FY2025 and Q1 2026 results reflect continued growth across the Group’s core businesses, supported by disciplined execution, improved operating efficiency, and a strengthened capital position.”

He added the completed recapitalisation programme positions the group “for the next phase of growth across our commercial banking, non-interest banking, and wealth-management businesses.”
