Senegal has taken its AFCON 2025 final dispute to CAS, seeking to overturn CAF’s decision that awarded Morocco a 3–0 victory by forfeit.
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has filed an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), challenging the decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to award Morocco victory in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final. CAS confirmed receipt of the appeal on March 25, 2026.
The dispute stems from CAF’s ruling that Senegal forfeited the final after their team reportedly walked off the pitch following a controversial late penalty awarded to Morocco. CAF subsequently declared Morocco winners with a 3–0 scoreline, stripping Senegal of the title.
FSF is seeking to overturn the decision and be reinstated as AFCON champions, while also requesting a suspension of the deadline for filing detailed legal arguments. CAS said a panel will be constituted to hear the case, but no timeline has been set for a final ruling.
