Bayelsa PDP Chairman George Turnah says the party is fully prepared for the 2028 governorship election and remains undeterred by recent political realignments, as former APC chieftain Gabriel Claudius formally joins the party.

Politics is not for the weak — and Bayelsa PDP is ready to prove it. According to Punch, party chairman George Turnah declared the PDP fully prepared for the 2028 governorship election, dismissing suggestions that recent political shifts had weakened the party.
Speaking at Elebele Community in Ogbia LGA, Turnah welcomed former APC chieftain Gabriel Claudius, the “One Million Man,” and his supporters into the PDP, calling it a boost for grassroots mobilisation. He said the party had identified key constituencies to focus resources on ahead of the polls.
Turnah, a former running mate to ex-Governor Timipre Sylva, urged members to stay united and intensify grassroots work, insisting the PDP had the structure and capacity to win.
