Self-styled PFIPC Director-General Adeyemi Matthew Adeniyi has claimed he does not know how the phantom agency ended up with a N1.3 billion budgetary allocation, insisting the process had stalled following his arrest, while denying ever meeting Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
The self-styled Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, Prince Adeyemi Matthew Adeniyi, has explained how the fake organisation was captured in the Federal Government’s budget despite his arrest before the appropriation process was concluded.
Adeniyi made the claims during an interview with social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, in a recording released shortly after his arrest.
Vanguard reports that he said Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, had no hand in the N1.3 billion budgetary allocation, adding that he personally approached top Budget Office officials for the agency’s inclusion, but the process was not completed before his arrest.
According to him, he visited the Budget Office in December 2024 seeking inclusion in the 2025 Appropriation Bill but was told the budget process had already closed. He said officials later assured him the proposal would be considered for the 2026 budget instead.
“When the 2025 budget came out and I didn’t see it, they told me it would now be for the 2026 budget. We kept in touch because they said it would be considered later,” he said.
He alleged a female official helped him access the office of the Budget Office Director-General, who asked him for “shini” before referring him to another director.
Asked whether he paid any official, Adeniyi denied giving money, insisting he only promised future employment favours. “Honestly, I did not pay any money. I didn’t pay anybody… It was just a promise that if they had people, I could employ them later,” he said.
He said everything stopped once his legal troubles began, and he only later learned the agency had appeared in the budget, without being able to explain how.
On the alleged N400 million paid to facilitate his appointment, Adeniyi claimed the money was delivered in US dollars through his late associate, Dolapo Tanimola, though he was unsure if it reached Gbajabiamila. He denied ever meeting the Chief of Staff.
