The Nigerian Consulate in Johannesburg has confirmed the killing of two Nigerians in South Africa amid renewed xenophobic tensions.
The victims were identified as Amaramiro Emmanuel and Ekpenyong Andrew. Consul-General Ninikanwa Okey-Uche said Emmanuel died from injuries allegedly sustained after being beaten by personnel of the South African National Defence Force on April 20.

Residents of Igando, Lagos State, were thrown into shock after a couple allegedly beat their 10-year-old adopted daughter to death.

Gunmen Abduct Farm Manager in Ondo Community
Gunmen on Monday abducted a farm manager, Afolabi Ajayi, in the Imafon community of Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Sources said the attackers struck at about 10:30 a.m. when the victim stepped out of his vehicle to enter a poultry farm.

NDLEA Intercepts 748kg of Tramadol in Edo
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Edo State says it has intercepted controlled pharmaceutical drugs, including tramadol weighing 748.02kg, on the Benin-Lagos Expressway.
State Commander Mitchell Ofoyeju disclosed the seizure while briefing journalists in Benin on Monday.
He described the interception as part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and abuse.
