Tanker Explosion Rocks Ikeja Along in Lagos
A petroleum tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit overturned and burst into flames late Wednesday, February 11, at the Ikeja Along area of Lagos State. The petrol-laden vehicle reportedly spilled its contents on the road, triggering a fire outbreak that caused panic among residents and motorists.
Authorities are yet to confirm casualties or the extent of damage as emergency responders worked to contain the blaze and prevent further escalation.
Professor Biodun Jeyifo Dies at 80
Biodun Jeyifo, one of Nigeria’s foremost literary scholars and critics, has died at the age of 80. His passing was announced on Wednesday by Andrew Haruna, President of the Nigerian Academy of Letters.
