The Nigerian Army has arrested a suspected Sudanese foreign terrorist fighter and a Ghanaian woman believed to be an illegal immigrant during an intelligence-led operation in Borno State.

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai’s 115 Task Force Battalion apprehended the suspects in Lassa, Dille General Area of Askira/Uba Local Government Area on July 19, according to Business Hallmark. Acting Military Information Officer Capt. Muhammed Goni identified the Sudanese suspect as 32-year-old Musa Fashir, alleging links to terrorist groups in the region. The Ghanaian suspect, 36-year-old Mary Florence, claimed to be an illegal immigrant. Both remain in military custody undergoing interrogation to establish their identities and any ties to terrorist or transnational criminal networks. The Army reaffirmed its commitment to disrupting insurgent logistics and urged residents to continue providing credible intelligence according to Hallmark news.
