Musk responds after losing $150 billion suit sgainst OpenAI

A nine-member jury found that Mr. Musk had waited too long to sue. The setback for the tech mogul frees OpenAI to continue in the artificial intelligence race.

A federal jury in Oakland, CA took less than two hours to unanimously reject Elon Musk’s 2024 lawsuit against Sam Altman and OpenAI, ruling the claims were filed too late under the statute of limitations. Musk had accused OpenAI of straying from its nonprofit roots as the battle over the future of AI intensifies. His legal team says they plan to appeal. CBS News’ Jo Ling Kent has the full story.

Regarding the OpenAI case, the judge & jury never actually ruled on the merits of the case, just on a calendar technicality.

There is no question to anyone following the case in detail that Altman & Brockman did in fact enrich themselves by stealing a charity. The only question is WHEN they did it!

I will be filing an appeal with the Ninth Circuit, because creating a precedent to loot charities is incredibly destructive to charitable giving in America.

OpenAI was founded to benefit all of humanity.
