The Lagos State Government has launched the second phase of its polio vaccination campaign for children, part of the wider Polio Outbreak Response. Led by the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board with partners like WHO and UNICEF, this drive follows the detection of a Variant Poliovirus Type Two in Makoko last month.
Running from December 6 to December 9, 2025, the initiative targets children aged 0 to 59 months across all 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs. Dr. Ibrahim Mustafa urged parents and communities to cooperate, highlighting the government’s commitment to child health through this NAFDAC and WHO-approved oral polio vaccine.
