Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila has revealed that President Tinubu nearly removed him from office over intelligence reports linking actor-politician Desmond Elliot to the Lagos State House of Assembly speakership crisis.
According to Punch, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has disclosed that he almost lost his position over actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot’s alleged role in the Lagos Assembly speakership crisis.
Speaking in a viral video, Gbajabiamila said Tinubu summoned him during the Obasa impeachment saga, stating: “I almost lost my job as Chief of Staff last year because of Desmond Elliot. Mr. President called me to his house in Abuja during the Lagos Speaker Obasa saga. He said, ‘I hear this Desmond is your boy, the one we gave you.'”
Gbajabiamila said Tinubu told him: “I’m telling you from intelligence that he is part of them. Go and tell him to retrace his steps.”
He added that the DSS Director-General also contacted him, saying: “Your name is being mentioned all over the place. That you are the one behind, you are supporting Desmond in this event.”
Punch said it could not independently verify Elliot’s involvement.
