The Edo State House of Assembly has rejected the purported resignation of former Speaker Blessing Agbebaku, instead converting it to an impeachment during plenary. Majority Leader Sunday Ojezele stated the resignation was not formally received and did not follow parliamentary procedures. The House overwhelmingly supported the impeachment motion, with the speaker condemning Agbebaku’s “worrisome and unwarranted attitude.” Agbebaku was ordered to return House property.
