The court found police violated his rights to expression, liberty, dignity and property. His camera was smashed, his phone seized — killing his live coverage mid-protest.
Oyekunle, secretary of the NUJ FCT Council, called it a win for press freedom, insisting democracy can’t survive if journalists keep getting attacked for simply doing their jobs, according to the Daily Post report.
