Don’t be deceived, North hasn’t been captured for you – Primate Ayodele warns Tinubu

Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has warned President Bola Tinubu that the North has yet to accept his 2027 second-term ambition, cautioning that relying on “deceptive” advisors and movements like ‘City Boy’ will lead to a unified northern opposition

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a stark warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding his standing in Northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 presidential election. In a statement released through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the cleric asserted that the President is being “deceived” by subordinates who claim the region is secured. Ayodele maintained that the North is currently not in support of Tinubu’s second-term ambition, largely because “capable hands” are not managing the region’s complex political landscape on his behalf.

The prophet emphasized that the President must bypass the filters of his inner circle and confront the “realities on the ground,” which he suggests are increasingly hostile. According to Ayodele, Northern political blocs are likely to “instigate sensitive things” and eventually coalesce behind a single alternative candidate to challenge the incumbency. He specifically noted that the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu, and the popular ‘City Boy’ movement lack the grassroots depth to shift northern sentiment. “They have not captured the North yet for you,” Ayodele warned, suggesting that business-as-usual politics will fail in the face of a unified northern front.

Despite the warning of a looming “crisis” toward the election, the cleric predicted that Tinubu’s candidacy would ultimately “divide the North,” rather than face a completely monolithic opposition. To mitigate this, he advised the President to take personal charge of negotiations with traditional and political leaders in the region rather than relying on intermediaries. This prophetic warning comes amid rising tensions in the North over economic policies and the recent arrest of prominent regional figures, suggesting a turbulent road ahead for the administration’s 2027 strategy.
