Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has revealed she lost ₦5 million after placing what she called her first-ever football bet, on the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina. She shared the news on Instagram shortly after the match, describing the experience as both financially and emotionally draining, The Sun reports.
“First time betting and I lost. Will never try it again. My N5 million is gone. In fact, I’m done watching football. Anxiety almost killed me,” she wrote.
The post drew mixed reactions, with some fans sympathising and others teasing her over the failed prediction, while a few defended Spain’s win.
