Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide marked the 60th anniversary of the assassinations of Nigeria’s first military Head of State, Maj.-Gen. Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, and former Western Region Military Governor, Lt. Col. Adekunle Fajuyi. Their July 29, 1966 deaths are seen as enduring symbols of courage, loyalty, and national unity, according to Ezechi Chukwu.
