Ohanaeze Honors Aguiyi-Ironsi, Fajuyi
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide marked the 60th anniversary of the assassinations of Nigeria’s first military Head of State, Maj.-Gen. Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, and former Western Region Military Governor, Lt. Col. Adekunle Fajuyi. Their July 29, 1966 deaths are seen as enduring symbols of courage, loyalty, and national unity, according to Ezechi Chukwu. Ohanaeze President-General Azuta Mbata emphasized their sacrifice inspires patriotism and fairness.
