Chelsea confirm £55m signing of Jamie Gittens as winger signs seven-year contract after joining from

The 20-year-old winger has signed a seven-year deal and joins a busy Chelsea summer window.

Chelsea have completed the signing of 20-year-old winger Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £55 million.

Gittens signed a seven-year contract and becomes the latest addition to Enzo Maresca’s squad ahead of the new season.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Gittens said: “It feels great. It’s a great feeling to join such a big club as Chelsea. I can’t wait to learn from everyone in the team and to push myself to the max here. It’s an amazing feeling.”

Gittens, who has 11 England Under-21 caps, returns to Chelsea after a brief stint in the club’s academy during his youth. He later played for Reading and Manchester City before moving to Dortmund in 2020.

He made his Bundesliga debut in April 2022 and went on to make 107 appearances for the German side, scoring 17 goals and providing 14 assists.

Chelsea’s summer rebuild continues, with Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Dario Essugo, and Mamadou Sar also joining the squad.
