Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, claims late President Muhammadu Buhari had reservations about Bola Tinubu’s 2023 candidacy due to religious and ethical concerns. Lawal also predicts Tinubu’s failure in 2027 and backs a Peter Obi-Rabiu Kwankwaso ticket.
Lawal stated Buhari eventually agreed to remain neutral, allowing delegates to choose the APC candidate. These remarks were made in an interview with Symfoni TV.
